Chapter Thirteen is a late intermediate/advanced Harry Potter RPG set in the year 1294. Yeah, that's right. 1294. That considered, you won't see Voldemort, no Harry Potter, and certainly no screwed up canon characters. We don't deal with Death Eaters or the Order of the Phoenix - the closest thing we've got is a couple of Dark-Arts obsessed students and some rather wand-happy Gryffindors. Instead of the usual cliched plots, Chapter Thirteen focuses on the plots of individual and original characters, as well as the first ever Triwizard Tournament in wizarding history. The students from each school have been selected based off of the current member base of 15 players, 53 characters - with a near even distribution of characters over all four houses!
Whether you're in the entrance hall watching two fourth years duke it out with one another, or listening in on a conversation that the evil Care of Magical Creatures Professor was rumored to have left two students to die in the Forbidden Forest, you'll always find something going on at Chapter Thirteen. Out of character, we're all the best of friends, brought together by our own Chapter Thirteen chatroom that can be found on the top of our forums. If you can't handle a bit of insanity, then you wouldn't enjoy our tight knit group. We've impersonated one another, made each other spill their tea by using the spiffy chat sounds, and drove one another crazy (The green grass grows all around, all around, and the green grass grows all around!). We've laughed, we've cried, and made appointments in our respective towns with the most well-known psychiatrists, so we can recomend one if need be.
Anyway, back to the Triwizard Tournament. The champions have yet to face their first task, but there are more dangerous things at Hogwarts than whatever the first task might turn out to be - the History of Magic Professor, for starters. Those who weren't lucky enough to be selected (or were lucky not to be selected) have to deal with her too, on top of a couple of unorthodox upperclassmen, and some intense rivalries between students (even students within the same House). Needless to say, we love character conflict.
However, we do have our share of peaceful Hufflepuffs - from the bottom of the house with the first years (some of the time...) right up to the Head of House, and even to our respected Headmaster, a Hufflepuff alumnus. The spread of students between Houses - and between years - is well balanced; we know perfectly well that things get pretty boring with a million and one Gryffindors and Slytherins - up up until very recently, Slytherin was our smallest House, and and is now only two characters larger than our smallest house, Gryffindor. Rumors run rampant - did Robin Hasburry really ruin her voice screaming at a dragon for five hours? Does Gwendolyn Burns actually eat first years for breakfast (and would she eat my brother?), or has she stopped now that she and James Craven are starting to 'get along'? And, of course, is Chauncey Nicholson, the Durmstrang Champion, really as much a jerk as people say he is?
So, interested yet? I hope so. We're a late intermediate/advanced RPG set in as realistic a world we can possibly manage. We look for creative, inventive role players who are looking for a growing RPing community. For more information, check out the RPG forums or the website!
